DESCRIPTION:JOURNÉE NATIONALE DE LA VÉRITÉ ET DE LA RÉCONCILIATION\nEn tant que travailleurs de l’éducation engagés envers la santé et le bonheur de nos élèves\, les milliers de vies détruites au cours des 167 années du système des pensionnats nous touchent de près. Les répercussions de ces actions terribles se sont répercutées à travers les générations. On a toujours su que des atrocités étaient commises dans les pensionnats\, mais elles ont rarement été reconnues par notre gouvernement. \nLes cultures riches et diverses des peuples des Premières Nations\, des Inuits et des Métis ont presque disparu du monde. Nous ne pouvons pas défaire le passé\, mais nous pouvons reconnaître\, honorer et redonner le pouvoir à ceux qui peuvent maintenir leurs nations et leurs cultures en vie. \nCette journée est l’occasion de rendre hommage aux enfants qui n’ont jamais pu retourner chez eux et aux survivants des pensionnats ainsi qu’à leurs familles et leurs communautés. Porter du orange le 30 septembre pour rendre hommage aux milliers de survivants des pensionnats. \nNATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION\nAs education workers\, committed to the health and happiness of our students\, the thousands of lives destroyed during the 167 years of the residential school system hit close to our hearts. The repercussions of these terrible actions have echoed through generations. It was always known there were atrocities committed at residential schools\, but they were rarely acknowledged by our government. \nThe rich and diverse cultures of the First Nations\, Inuit\, and Métis peoples were almost lost to the world. We cannot undo the past\, but we can recognize\, honour and give back the power to those who can keep their nations and cultures alive. \nThis day honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools\, as well as their families and communities. Wear orange on September 30th to honour the lost children and survivors of residential schools.
