We notified the news media on Monday June 15 after identifying that, should the budget be adopted by the Commissioners the next day, a total of 117.5 regular positions would be abolished. This would result in 68.5 Special Education support staff members being left without a regular position.&nbsp; A massive loss for our members and the special needs student community.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"443\" data-end=\"695\">At the June 16, 2026 EMSB Council of Commissioners meeting, the proposed staffing plan was discussed at length.
