National Support Staff Day in Education

September 30, 2021 is National Support Staff Day in Education. Supported by the Fédération des employées et employés de services publics-CSN (FEESP-CSN), this day highlights the essential contribution made by thousands of workers in school service centres, CEGEPs and universities in Quebec.

As a union, we are affiliated with the FEESP-CSN School Sector, which represents more than 35,000 school support staff in 81 different job classifications. Due to its number and its presence throughout Quebec, the FEESP-CSN School Sector is the most important union organization in the network.

In our union, the goal of this day is to highlight the support staff who work in our school boards and service centres. This is an opportunity to make our work known and above all recognized in our communities. We are proud to bring our expertise, and commitment to the educational success of all students. Whether we work in IT, school organization, caretaking, administration, printing, care and direct services to students, we all actively and effectively participate in the mission of educating students, adults and students with learning difficulties.

Once again, this year, the start of the school year took place in a special context, with a confirmed fourth wave and a very real staff shortage. But thanks to your skills and professionalism, it went well. One thing is certain, last year has certainly demonstrated the essential role that school support staff play in education!

Happy National Support Staff Day in Education!
